A Typical Nursery Day
This is a typical day on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday
9:00 Children will arrive in class
They will:
- Hang up their belonging on their pegs
- Find their picture/name card to our self register
9:10 Morning Register
9:15 Sound Explorers (Hedgehogs)
Daily Little Wandle Foundations for nursery aged children. Foundations has been developed in a range of settings by a range of practitioners. It incorporates the latest research about early language and literacy development so you can trust that you’re spending your time doing the things that make the biggest difference.
9:15 Storytime (Squirrels)
9.25 Discovery Time
The children can explore the classroom - they will be able to use the enhanced provision that is set up to encourage learning and inspire imaginations and creativity inside and outside.
10:00 Snacktime and Maths
The children will collectively join in with some maths activities – singing number songs, exploring shapes and pattern and challenging themselves with weight and measure.
10:30 Discovery Time
The children can explore the classroom - they will be able to use the enhanced provision that is set up to encourage learning and inspire imaginations and creativity inside and outside.
11:00 Love of Reading (Both Squirrels and Hedgehogs)
11:15 Outside Discovery Time and Set up for Lunchtime
12:00 Lunchtime
The children have lunch together in their class enjoying either a packed lunch from home or a school dinner.
13:00 Afternoon Register
13:10 STEAM learning (Hedgehogs on Monday and Thursday, Squirrels on Tuesday and Friday)
Each term the children are introduced to learning following the ambitious GLF Curriculum. Questions are posed to challenge children's thinking and curiosity, developing their knowledge and understanding
13:30 Discovery Time
The children can explore the classroom - they will be able to use the enhanced provision that is set up to encourage learning and creativity linked to our curriculum.
14:25 Rhyme Time (Both Squirrels and Hedgehogs)
14:35 Story and celebrations
The children will share a story on the carpet before home time. Throughout the term, carefully selected stories are read from CLPE's 'Power of Reading' approach to develop children’s comprehension and vocabulary.
15:00 Home time - The doors will open for children to be collected!
