GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Head Teacher's Welcome

On behalf of our staff and school standards board, we would like to welcome you to our school website. We are so proud of our school, because we have such a fantastic, nurturing team where relationships and values are strong.

Banstead Infant School is a three-form entry infant school catering for 4 to 7 year olds, with just under 270 children on role. We are a very well-resourced school, having the benefit of beautiful grounds, a sensory garden, a forest school, access to the junior school field, a library and a range of modern computing equipment.

We have wonderful children who love their learning, who are well-behaved and caring. We have a strong, shared vision and are passionate about education, with a firm understanding of the needs of our own children and how they learn best. Every year we work so that we become closer towards our aims – the school never stands still. We are reflective and continually develop our practice. We have high expectations for everyone and everything.

We are a Learning without Limits school. We believe that children should be given every opportunity to surprise us with what they can achieve. We believe in the potential of every child to succeed. We enable the children to develop confidence and belief in their capacity to learn and in the things they can do, alone and in collaboration, to enhance their power as learners.

We have skilled, confident teachers and committed, enthusiastic teaching assistants.  The school flourishes because of this: the strength of the staff team enables them to provide high quality teaching and learning in a stimulating and nurturing environment.

We hope that this website will give you a flavour of our school and its achievements. If you are a prospective parent looking for a school, please see the admissions page for further information.

If, as a parent of a pupil attending this school, you would like a paper copy of the information on this website, please contact the school office.

I would like to thank everyone involved with Banstead Infant School for their hard work and commitment.

Consultation: Admissions Arrangements for 2025/26

for Banstead Infant School

We are consulting on our Admissions Arrangements for 2025/26. This consultation commenced at 11am Wednesday 6th December 2023 and will close at 11am on Wednesday 31st January 2024. To take part in the consultation, please send your comments to Lisa Breeden, Admissions Officer, using the following email address:

Our Admissions Arrangements for 2025/26 are available here Proposed Admission Arrangements for Banstead Infant School 2025-26 in full. Anyone wishing to participate in the consultation is encouraged to read these in detail.

The key changes to our admissions arrangements are as follows:

  1. Changes to the Pupil Admission Number from 90 to 60 to reflect the falling number on roll that has arisen from the changing demographics in the area surrounding the school.

This consultation is taking place in accordance with the requirements as set out in the School Admissions Code (here). The consultation must take place for six weeks and it is good practice that this six-week period excludes school holidays.

The GLF Trust Board is the Admissions Authority for our School. It will review all responses to the consultation prior to agreeing the final Admissions Arrangements for 2025/26. These will be published on our website no later than Wednesday 15 March 2024, in line with the statutory requirement.
